Stocks Reservoir Dam,

Stocks Reservoir covers an
area of approximately 340 acres and is 6.2 miles around at top water
level. The reservoir holds approximately
3,000 million gallons and was built with a maximum depth of 103 ft. At the
time of its opening in 1932, some 13,096,764 gallons of water per day
were available for supply to the Fylde, whilst 6,548,382 gallons were
available for compensation back into the River Hodder below the dam. The
area of the water gathering grounds feeding into Stocks Reservoir is
approximately 9,260 acres.
