New Inn / Travellers Rest
New Inn c. 1900 Photograph used by kind permission of Mr. A. Wood The "New Inn" was owned and run by T.C. Robinson until 1903 when it was purchased by John Swale. He did not approve of alcoholic drink; terminated the liquor licence, and ran the premises as a Temperance Hotel called the "Traveller's Rest". He also moved the Post Office to the hotel building.

|
The "Travellers Rest" was purchased by the Fylde Water Board around 1916 and was used as accommodation for surveyors, engineers and other officals visiting the Stocks Reservoir works until the permanent Reservoir Keepers House and Board Room was built at the dam site.
