"My
parents, John and Sarah Jane Walmsley had the post office/general store
at Stocks Fold when they were first married. They moved across the road
when my grandfather transferred the Post Office to the "Traveller's
Rest". They then moved to Black House when my grandfather, John
Swale, sold Stocks-in-Bowland and retired to Gargrave." (A. Walmsley).
